Hello Miami Subchapter
First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you who joined us for our World Class Internal Audit Departments seminar on October 9th at the FIU Kovens Center. It was a record turnout for us, and judging from your feedback, the event was a winner. I am grateful to everyone who helped with this event, especially our excellent speakers: Richard Brilliant from Carnival, Adair Barton and Paul Chaney from Dycom, Joris Jabouin and Felvio Rodriguez from Burger King, Cliff Zoller and Jason Leon from Ryder, and Jess Woloszyn from Royal Caribbean.
Tis the season! Is it me, or does time really fly? How crazy is it that our last holiday party of the decade is a few weeks away??? So, come party with us like it’s 2-0-0-9. Stay tuned for details on our next 8 hour CPE event on Fraud at the FIU Kovens Center on March 14. For the first time our Chapter is partnering with the South Florida Chapter of the ACFE to put together a blockbuster event. To mark this special occasion, we are hoping to have both Presidents from our respective global organizations as keynote speakers, Richard Chambers from the IIA and Jim Ratley from the ACFE.
Other planned events include Latest Trends in IT Auditing/High Impact Audits in May, Intro to Internal Auditing (TBA), Quarterly CAE Roundtables, Industry Roundtables, and our social meetings. Make sure you check out our website http://iiamiami.org/ for our calendar of events.
